Charley Kemp

Level 3 Whitewater instructor Charley Kemp received her certification from American Canoe Association, the leader in instructor certification and representing paddlers of all skill levels, in all craft, and in all watery venues.  Charley is also certified in adult and child BLS (Basic Life Support aka CPR), wilderness first aid, and Level 5 Swift-water rescue. 

Charley sits on the board of Protect Texas Rivers Association, is a shareholder with the Trinity River Paddling Trails Association and, and a member of Texas Stream Team.  Charley says, “I love teaching others how to enjoy kayaking in a safe manor.  Teaching the younger paddlers how to enjoy the water and a leave no trace attitude is a part of my personal curriculum.

Teresa Patterson

Teresa Patterson, AKA “River Mom” is a level 2 ACA (American Canoe Association) certified kayak instructor, and one of the co-owners of Adventures Unlimited Paddling Company.  She serves as the President of the North Texas River Runners, manager of TC Paddlesports, and the Trinity River Paddle Trail Manager who’s job is to assist paddlers with access an information on the 130 mile Trinity River paddle Trail. Certified in wilderness first aid and CPR, she has been guiding groups of paddlers on adventures throughout the rivers and lakes of the DFW Metroplex for 13 years.  Originally a scuba diver, Teresa took up kayaking as a way to stay close to the water when she couldn’t dive. Now kayaking is her first love, and helping others discover the joy of paddling is her second.

Shatha Alanssari

Shatha Alanssari is a level 2 ACA (American Canoe Association) certified kayak instructor, certified CPR and Wilderness First Aid and Level 4 Swift-water rescue.

She loves different outdoor activities, including scuba diving, skydiving, hiking and, of course, kayaking. Shatha has paddled rivers in the United States and in Sweden. Her passion is to pass her appreciation for nature and paddlesports to others by giving them safe, and exciting experiences on the water.

She also loves kayak racing, winning the first place in the women's division in her first year of participating in the Trinity River Challenge, and in the second year beating her previous time by 20 minutes.
